FOX Super Light Steel (SLS) springs here in colour Black are exactly that : super light steel springs. They're actually lighter than titanium coils. Using technology developed for highly stressed valve springs in drag racing cars, FOX was able to drastically reduce the weight of the spring. A proprietary surface treatment and stress relief process removes residual stresses from the spring, allowing them to withstand higher stresses. Each spring is optimized by using a smaller wire diameter and less coils, creating a lighter spring.

How to understand the indication on the spring with for example 650x2.65x5.60 TLG
- 650 is the spring rate (higher is this value, stronger is the coil)
- 2.65 is the maximum travel of the spring in inches (here 2.65 inch or 67 mm)
- 5.60 is the total lenght of the spring in inches (here 5.60 inches of 142 mm)
