Workshop tips
- Loosening procedure: The threaded ring is screwed with a standard right-hand thread (anti-clockwise to loosen). Due to natural self-tightening caused by pedalling, the initial breakaway torque can be very high.
- Leverage technique: Clamp the tool securely face-up in a workshop vise, position the wheel vertically on the tool to engage the teeth, then rotate the complete wheel using the rim as a leverage arm.
- Spline check: Never force the tool if it does not fit in seamlessly. Standard Ratchet and Ratchet EXP profiles have different tooth counts and diameters.
